Ventrilo, the VoIP based Voice Communication Program
Ventrilo is a popular VoIP surround sound voice communication program which runs on Microsoft and Mac OS. Ventrilo servers are available in two versions, Ventrilo freeware version and Ventrilo Pro version. The freeware version can be used by 8 users at a time to connect to each other using microphones or headsets. The Ventrilo pro version can be used by more than 8 users for low monthly fee. Launching on 3rd August 2002, the Ventrilo servers has developed immensely. During its initial launch, Ventrilo could be used on only Microsoft OS, but later it was upgraded to be also used on Mac OS. The current versions of Ventrilo servers are 2.3.0 and 2.3.1 depending on the operating system platform.
